Ex-Apprentice Player Vetrini Gets Engaged
Originally posted 05/10/2005 08:00AM
ENGAGED: Former The Apprentice contestant Ereka Vetrini, 29, who is now the announcer on The Tony Danza Show, became engaged to Randy Burkholder, her longtime boyfriend, over the weekend, the program has announced. Burkholder proposed at sunset on a beach in Aruba, where he had taken Vetrini for a weekend getaway. Celebrating the event and making their first on-air appearance as an engaged couple, Burkholder is due to assist Vetrini as she opens Tuesday's Danza show. As for Tony Danza, 54, on Monday he lost control of his vehicle, which flipped over as he and NASCAR star Rusty Wallace were racing go-karts on Manhattan's West 66th Street. Though he was not wearing a helmet, the TV host was not injured.

Janu Makes a Survivor: Palau Sacrifice
Originally posted 04/22/2005 09:00AM
EXITED: There was a stunning tribal sacrifice on Thursday night's edition of CBS's Survivor: Palau, with 39-year-old Las Vegas showgirl Janu Tornell putting down her torch just before the vote – claiming she had already gotten all she could have out of the island experience. Another factor was that Janu sensed that her tribe was going to vote out Stephenie LaGrossa, 25-year-old pharmaceutical sales rep from Philadelphia – who also had been the last standing Ulong member before joining the Koror fold. Janu admitted that Stephenie deserved to stay on. After the surprise announcement, Janu explained, "No one will ever be able to take away this most unforgettable experience. No one."
