Vanessa Hudgens seemed in a charitable mood Monday while wheeling around L.A. in her new Audi convertible. The 19-year-old High School Musical star was spotted handing over a $10 bill to a man sitting by the side of the road while she stopped at a red light.

Maybe her generosity stemmed from officially signing on for HSM 3 with her fellow castmates Zac Efron and Ashley Tisdale. Or possibly, she was feeling good about settling the $150,000 lawsuit with her former lawyer, which she did for undisclosed terms, according to City News Service.

Vanessa Hudgens may sing and dance in her next film, but don't expect it to be like High School Musical.

The actress, 19, is set for the role of Sam in Will, a coming-of-age story about a high school rock band made up of misfits, says the Hollywood Reporter.

Set to begin production next month in Austin, the movie is described as a dramedy about a popular girl forming a rock band with a bunch of young outcasts who come together over their love of music and compete in a local Battle of the Bands.
