• Victoria Beckham treated her boys Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz to a relaxing weekend away at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego, clocking time together by the pool and in the restaurant Maryjane's, where the family ate breakfast on Saturday morning. Posh ordered a bowl of berries with coffee and her sons ate flapjacks. The Beckhams also snuck away for a VIP tour of nearby SeaWorld, then returned to unwind at Float, the hotel's rooftop pool lounge. The boys took a dip while Beckham sipped some rosé champagne.

Victoria Beckham to Be Guest Judge on American Idol

As the dust settles on the shocking departure of Paula Abdul, 47, from next season's American Idol, now comes confirmation from Victoria Beckham's publicist that the former Posh Spice, 35, will make a "one-off appearance" as a guest judge on the top-rated FOX show, reports Britain's Sky News.

Just don't expect Beckham to take up a permanent perch next to judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi – as she reportedly doesn't wish to take time away from overseeing her fashion line.

• Double date alert! Victoria and David Beckham joined pals Kate Beckinsale and her director husband Len Wiseman for dinner at XIV Restaurant in West Hollywood. The two couples, who also dined with a female friend, sipped champagne and red wine and seemed engrossed in conversation over their mellow meal.

• Victoria Beckham celebrated her 35th birthday with her family – well, everyone except hubby David Beckham. Surrounded by her parents, son Cruz, Romeo and Brooklyn and another couple, Posh enjoyed a leisurely three hour dinner at Michael Mina's XIV restaurant in Hollywood. "All the kids were so cute and well behaved," says an onlooker, who noted the long dinner might have been past their bedtime. "They were falling asleep at the table!"
