Members of Paul Walker's stunned, grieving family as well as friends gathered Monday night to mourn at the site of the car crash that killed the actor over the weekend.
Police helped clear a space for Walker's loved ones amid other mourners and onlookers, Antonio Holmes, a body-shop worker who knew Walker through his Always Evolving racing team, tells PEOPLE. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Walker's Fast and Furious studio Universal obtained the necessary police permit for the gathering.
It was not immediately clear which family members attended. Walker is survived by his mother and father, two brothers, a sister and his 15-year-old daughter Meadow.

Vin Diesel on Monday joined the throngs mourning Paul Walker at the site where he died, calling his Fast and the Furious costar an "angel" and a "brother" whose legacy would live on.
"If he could see for himself that all of you have showed up to show my brother love at this hard time, and the family gets to see all of you show the love that you've shown Paul, it's going to stay with me forever," the actor, 46, told the crowd over a police car's loudspeaker in a video posted by KTLA-TV.

Vin Diesel: an action star and a gentleman.
After showing off his vocal range with a cover of Rihanna's "Stay" on Friday, The Fast and the Furious star is revealing the inspiration behind his touching performance (and his re-cut clip, below).
After seeing Rihanna perform the song at the Grammy Awards, Diesel, 45, decided to record himself singing the tune and dedicate it to his longtime girlfriend, Paloma Jimenez, in lieu of a traditional Valentine's Day card.
With the help of his daughter, Diesel obtained a mic and an amp while Jimenez was on a flight and "the rest is history," he tells PEOPLE.
