It was 10 years ago today that TheFacebook.com first surged to life in a Harvard dorm room.
In the decade since, the rise of Facebook has been good for a whole lot of people: Mark Zuckerberg, obviously, and your cousin who just had a baby, for another.
But there's one type of person who's truly made the site work for them – celebrities, who not only use the social network to speak directly to their fans but offer the outside world an intimate, unfiltered look at their lives, work and wisdom.
On the occasion of Facebook's 10th anniversary, here are the 10 celebs who deserve a place in your newsfeed.

Robert Downey Jr. is no longer the highest-earning actor in Hollywood. That honor now belongs to a different man of steel – Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Topping Forbes's new list of the top-grossing actors of 2013, Johnson's star vehicles – which included the action flicks Snitch, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Pain & Gain and Fast & Furious 6 – took in a combined $1.3 billion in global ticket sales and cemented his place as this year's most bankable movie star.
Downey Jr. – who topped last year's list of highest-grossing movie stars thanks to the hugely successful The Avengers – came in a close second to Johnson this year, despite starring in Iron Man 3, the top-earning movie of 2013, which raked in $1.2 billion.

A chorus of whirring engines paid tribute to the late Paul Walker Sunday as thousands gathered at the Santa Clarita, Calif., crash site where the actor died last Saturday.
Many mourners arrived in high-performance vehicles, a nod to Walker's star turn in The Fast and the Furious franchise, as well as his personal love of cars. Several vehicles Walker drove in the movies were on display in a church parking lot near the crash site, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Walker died alongside friend Roger Rodas after the Porsche Carrera GT Rodas was driving careened into a light pole and tree, then burst into flames. An autopsy confirmed Walker, 40, died of "traumatic and thermal injuries." Authorities say speed played a role in the crash.

Vin Diesel cemented his devotion to his brother on Friday in a heartbreaking Facebook post honoring his close friend and Fast & Furious costar, who died in a fiery car crash last Saturday.
Diesel explained that he jumped on a plane and made a beeline to Walker's mother's house directly after hearing the news of his death. His reaction after they embraced in grief appears to have simultaneously surprised, touched and shattered the action star.
"His mother hugged me and said, 'I am so sorry,' " he wrote in a post that has already garnered more than five million likes. "I said, 'Sorry? You're the mother who lost a son' ... She said 'Yes, but you lost your other half.' "
