It's officially duty-swap time in the Affleck-Garner household. As mom Jennifer Garner gets back into filmmaking this summer with a full plate of work, her Oscar-winning husband will hold down the fort at home as Mr. Mom.
After conquering Hollywood last year with his Academy Award-winning movie, Argo, the multi-talented Affleck, 40, is taking a step back from his own work to focus a bit more on the family life.
"Jennifer is going to work," a chuckling Affleck, 40, told PEOPLE Monday night. "And she told me to go to the gym."

Baby Samuel is already making quite the splash this summer.
Nearly five months after Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck welcomed their new addition, the whole family – including daughters Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3 – hit the beach in Puerto Rico.
Photographs from earlier this week show Affleck, 39, on break from filming Runner, Runner with Justin Timberlake, cooling off in the waves as Garner, 40, hangs on tight to her baby boy.

She's a big girl now!
Six-year-old Violet Affleck joined sister Seraphina (who turns 3 this week) and parents Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck on a New Year's Day walk with the family dogs through their Brentwood, Calif., neighborhood.
Violet confidently took the lead, walking alongside a yellow Lab. She was followed by dad Ben, who strolled with a German shepherd – leash hooked to his belt!

Ben Affleck recently found himself in deep when quality time with daughter Violet turned into an introduction to swearing.
The actor and director, 36, took his 3-year-old to lunch at a "reasonably full" Mexican restaurant, Affleck tells Jay Leno, where he unfortunately spilled their entire meal. And, as the mess – including Diet Coke and water – came rushing at him, he caught himself shouting "sh--."
Like a stuntman righting a car, he stopped himself from swearing and instead yelled the German term "scheisse."

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck will have no trouble juggling baby No. 2, says Garner's pal and Alias costar Bradley Cooper.
"She was a great leader for a TV show I did with her and she can literally do anything. So she can certainly run a family," Cooper told PEOPLE at the U.S. Open Heineken Premium Light players kick-off party in New York on Friday. "She will have no problems having two kids."
Cooper, 33, who also costars with Affleck in the upcoming film He’s Just Not That Into You, said the couple has what it takes to be "perfect" parents of a growing brood.
