First things first: Lose any food that's smothered in hot sauce.
"That's off the menu now ... and no pig feet, either," Aretha Franklin said good-naturedly on The Wendy Williams Show Wednesday.
Instead, the Queen of Soul and the talk show host sipped afternoon tea in Detroit during their chat, in which Franklin, 68, revealed that she's lost about 85 lbs.
"I've been looking at a lot of pictures, and I was saying [to myself], 'You were entirely too fat for words,' " the 18-time Grammy winner said with a laugh.

The pain started in her side, Aretha Franklin reveals – and was so bad it "nearly brought [her] to her knees."
During a talk with Wendy Williams set to air Tuesday on The Wendy Williams Show, the 18-time Grammy winner says that discomfort "was my first inkling that something was wrong, that something wasn't what it should be."
As for canceling her performance tour, the Queen of Soul, 68, says, "The pain was so hard it nearly brought me to my knees. So I said, 'The concerts are over. I have to go and find out what is wrong.' "

Wendy Williams has asked plenty of outrageous questions on her hit daytime talk show. But not even she was prepared for the moment her 9-year-old son said to her, "Mom, are your boobs real?"
"I gagged when my son came and asked me about the implants," Wiliams told PEOPLE. "It was 'Where did you hear that?' But it was on my own show."
During an episode of The Wendy Williams Show, the host admitted that she had breast implants 14 years ago. And while her nationally-syndicated talk show airs while her son Kevin is in school, Williams forgot he catches up with the shows later online.
"Our son did not know I had breast implants," Williams says. "So I sat down and went through plastic surgery with him. And it was great, because I was able to let him know that when his dad met me, I was completely natural. The beauty of my story is that 'Your dad met me as a frog and I have transformed myself, because I wanted to, into a swan.' "
