Country icon Wynonna's size is no laughing matter.
Despite playfully telling Tuesday's Good Morning America audience about signing on to Dancing with the Stars so that she can get down to her birth weight, the singer says her health has actually become a growing concern.
"This is a great diversion for me, because it will focus on self-care, which for women – especially working as hard as I do – we forget to put ourselves on the list," Wynonna, 48, told PEOPLE shortly after it was announced she'd be joining the cast of ABC's hit show. "This will force me to take care of myself."

Get ready to rumba!
With season 16 of Dancing With the Stars just weeks away, 11 new cast members – including former Olympic champs Dorothy Hamill and Aly Raisman, as well as Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump – were announced on Good Morning America Tuesday. There may also be a country music rivalry in the ballroom: two singers, Wynonna Judd and Kellie Pickler, will dance this season. Check out the full list of competitors below.
The pro pairings were also announced on the live telecast – and there are a few familiar faces missing from the list. Outspoken pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy will not be on this season; neither will Anna Trebunskaya, Chelsie Hightower or Louis Van Amstel. However, viewers will get to see new pros Gleb Savchenko, Lindsay Arnold and former dance troupe member Sharna Burgess in action when the season premieres March 18 on ABC.
Here's a full list of the season 16 pairs announced Tuesday:

After dropping 55 lbs. – and five dress sizes – Wynonna Judd is living a whole new life. This one includes pole dancing.
"I went to my first club in Vegas and danced on the pole with friends!" Judd says in the new issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday. "I feel more alive."
And that's a feeling she's not taking for granted after two health scares this year. In March, doctors found blood clots in her lungs, complications from surgery she had to repair damage to her stomach muscles. Four months later, Judd was involved in a head-on collision while in Salt Lake City for a show. Those two experiences left her "more determined than ever to commit to a healthier lifestyle."

To start the new year right, country superstar Wynonna Judd has signed on to become the face of Alli – the over-the-counter weight-loss product that first hit stores in 2007.
