Zac Efron Takes Death-Defying Leap

Originally posted 07/30/2009 10:30AM

Who says Zac Efron isn't ready to become an action hero?

The tween idol, known more for his dancing and singing skills from the High School Musical movies than for risking life and limb, took the plunge while bungee-jumping for the first time in Vancouver, Canada, on Saturday afternoon.

With a broad smile and no hesitation, the light-footed crooner lept off a bridge over a raging river – and he did it gracefully, of course. He even managed an acrobatic back flip as he went down.

"Zac really loved his jump, he seemed to be having a really good time and was excited to make his jump, but he only jumped once," an employee of Whistler Bungee said.

Vanessa Hudgens in No Rush to Get Married

Originally posted 07/14/2009 08:15PM

Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron are one of Hollywood's hottest young couples – but getting married and settling down is the last thing on the actress's list of things to do.

"I think [marriage and starting a family] is great," says Hudgens, 20, "but I'm so focused on my career right now that it doesn't really cross my mind."

What is on Hudgens's agenda is expanding her resume: The leading lady is taking on a different kind of high school role in this fall's movie Bandslam, a coming-of-age story about a motley crew of students who come together to form an eclectic band. Hudgens will play Sa5m (the 5 is silent), a quiet, shy girl who is a departure from her effervescent High School Musical character, Gabriella. And Hudgens is enjoying the change of pace.

Eminem Storms Out of MTV Movie Awards

Originally posted 05/31/2009 11:00PM

Eminem returned to the spotlight Sunday, spitting the lyrics of his name-dropping singles "We Made You" and "Crack A Bottle" from his hit album Relapse at the MTV Movie Awards. But not long after his performance, he stormed away from his seat in the auditorium when Sacha Baron Cohen, dressed as his flamboyant character Brüno in angel wings and a barely-visible thong, descended on wires and landed face down in the rapper's lap.

Bodyguards pounced and Eminem's entourage made its exit in what was the most outrageous moment of a night of filled with irreverence. Other examples: host Andy Samberg spoofing box office hits like Slumdog Millionaire (which was nominated six times but came up empty handed) and Star Trek, Amy Poehler accepting the Golden Popcorn trophy for the best "WTF moment" and Forest Whitaker singing an operatic rendition of Samberg's Emmy Award winning song "D– in a Box."

But the night belonged to the film sensation Twilight, which picked up five awards, including the top prize for best movie.

INSIDE STORY: How Stars Score Prime Lakers Tickets

INSIDE STORY: How Stars Score Prime Lakers Tickets

Originally posted 05/28/2009 12:00PM

A studio executive could open a summer's worth of blockbusters with the celebrities sitting court side at a single L.A. Lakers' playoff game.

Just how do Hollywood's finest manage to get those prime locations court side and in the lower bowl? Some buy in bulk – Lakers' season ticket holders include Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Dustin Hoffman, Penny Marshall, Dyan Cannon and Glenn Frey, to name a few. But that's not the only way to get a foot on the floor. "The main way most of the celebrities get in are through seats given to them by studios, record companies, major talent agencies and production companies," says Lakers' spokesman John Black. "On a given night, we may have 40 celebrities here but I may only be aware of five of them myself."
