Zac Efron Parties with Nicole Kidman in Cannes

Zac Efron spends most of his time barely dressed in the movie Paperboy, but he was fully clothed – and ever so dapper – when he made it out to the afterparty in celebration of his film.

The bash, hosted by Ciroc Vodka and skincare line Erno Laszlo, was also attended by costars Nicole Kidman and Matthew McConaughey, along with Kidman's hubby Keith Urban and Reese Witherspoon. And guests were treated to elegant affair, despite the gritty nature of the movie being honored.

The event was held in a white lily-filled vintage lounge on Carlton Beach in Cannes, where guests sipped vodka and noshed on "every flavor of macaroons," according to a party-goer.

Zac Efron Is Uncomfortable & Excited About Sexed-Up New Movie Role

Originally posted 05/24/2012 04:15PM

Zac Efron is showing some skin – a lot of it, in fact – in his new film The Paperboy, which just debuted at the Cannes Film Festival.

"He was in his underwear half the time," said singer Macy Gray, who plays a maid and narrates the movie, which also stars Nicole Kidman as what one Cannes reviewer described as "an oversexed Barbie."

The movie, directed by Lee Daniels (Precious), is set in Florida in 1969 amid racial strife. Efron is 20-year-old Jack, the younger brother of a journalist (played by Matthew McConaughey) who has come back to his family's small town to investigate whether a man was wrongly condemned to death row. Kidman's character is fixated on the inmate.

In one early scene, Kidman tears off her pantyhose and has an orgasm while visiting the prisoner (played by John Cusack) on death row. Later, her character urinates on Efron on a beach after he is stung by jellyfish.

You have to give the guy, um, a hand!

When Zac Efron goes to see a movie about a wounded vet, he dresses the part – right down to the flesh-colored bandage he wore on his left hand for Tuesday night's London premiere of The Lucky One, in which he stars.

When asked what caused the injury that required him to choose antiseptic cotton as the accoutrement for a dashing three-piece suit, Efron, 24, smiled and fingered his famously enthusiastic followers.

Zac Efron: Having His Mom See His Love Scenes Is 'Awkward'

Stripping off his clothes to shoot love scenes with Taylor Schilling for The Lucky One was fine with Zac Efron – until he watched the movie with his mother, Starla.

"We saw the film together and I was kind of squirming," Efron, 24, told PEOPLE at Thursday's New York City Cinema Society screening of the movie.

"Even though she was a couple of seats down from me, I tried to duck out during those scenes because it was too embarrassing. Obviously I'm acting, but knowing that my mom and my family were watching is kind of awkward. There's really no way around it."

Banish your shame: Sexually objectifying Zac Efron is the entire point of The Lucky One.

The kid from High School Musical is all grown up (he's 24), so go ahead and ogle. That's professional advice, because the film has lovely views but not much else.

In this Nicholas Sparks adaptation, Efron plays Logan, a Marine who is saved when he picks up a photo in the debris after an Iraqi firefight, seconds before a mortar explodes where he had just been sitting. Deciding that the pictured woman is his lucky charm, he sets out to find her. She's Beth (Taylor Schilling), a Louisiana mom who hires Logan to help with her dog kennel business.

Zac Efron sang and danced his way through High School Musical and lent his voice to The Lorax earlier this year – but the heartthrob is entering new territory with his latest film role, thanks to his steamy love scenes with costar Taylor Schilling in The Lucky One.

"From his past films, [director Scott Hicks] is incredible with capturing the love in those scenes. Everyone builds those scenes up," Efron, 24, told PEOPLE at Monday's Hollywood premiere of The Lucky One, based on the Nicholas Sparks novel.

"There is sort of a fear inherent in everyone else so me and Taylor weren't afraid at all."

Jennifer Aniston & Justin Theroux Giggle Together at Cheateau Marmont

Originally posted 03/16/2012 06:00AM

Jennifer Aniston was in a bright, sunny mood while hanging out with boyfriend Justin Theroux at West Hollywood's Chateau Marmont, an onlooker tells us. The couple seemed "content and present with each other" even as they were hanging out with a big group of people in the back area of the hotel's patio.

Aniston was bundled up for the weather, sporting a black wool peacoat and black pants, while her actor beau was in a leather jacket and gray T-shirt.

Theroux also greeted fellow revelers on the patio, sharing a hug with fellow guests like Zac Efron, who was there to hang with some guy friends. But when it was time to go, he only had eyes for Aniston, and the two giggled together as they left. Says the observer: "She and Justin were beaming and seemed enamored of each other."

Also at the Chateau that night: Eva Longoria, who was celebrating her 37th birthday with friends; and an energetic Lindsay Lohan who arrived at the hotel after midnight with one guy and a blonde female friend.
