A year after Zooey Deschanel filed for divorce from Ben Gibbard, the pair's marriage is officially over.
The New Girl star, 32, and Death Cab for Cutie crooner, 36, were divorced on Dec. 12, according to court documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.
According to the papers, "Unhappy and irreconcilable differences have arisen between the parties, which have caused the irremediable breakdown of their marriage. There is no possibility that counseling … or mediation could save the marriage."

If you ask why I am crying, it's because Madeleine Stowe, star of ABC's Revenge, is not among the Emmy nominees. In fact, I am crying just as she would: My eyes are ringed with big, ready-to-drop tears of wrath and sorrow.
Otherwise, the latest batch of nominees is pretty satisfying.
It's great to see Lena Dunham and her fantastic HBO comedy Girls up for best actress and show. (But nothing for the supporting cast?) Dunham, who plays a smart, funny, self-absorbed young writer, is running against her comic antithesis: Zooey Deschanel of FOX's New Girl, on which she plays (and plays very well) a cupcake.

Only the accountants at Ernst & Young – the official vote-counters for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences – know who will take home an Emmy during Sunday's ceremony.
Until then it's anyone's guess. But we can tell you which Emmy nominees are getting the most buzz among 170.89 million Facebook users in the U.S.
Based on the number of "Likes" and the number of mentions on the social networking site, it seems Sofia Vergara is a fan favorite. The Modern Family star leads over Kristen Wiig, Mayim Bialik, Julie Bowen, Merritt Wever and Kathryn Joosten for the supporting comedy actress category.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel may have shared great chemistry in 2009's (500) Days of Summer, but their romance only exists on-screen.
Despite fans' wishes for the two to become an item, the costars are just friends, Gordon-Levitt, 31, insists in the September issue of Playboy .
"We've been friends for 10 years. She loves movies, music and art, and she's incredibly knowledgeable about that stuff," he says.
"She's turned me on to so many movies and so much good music. It's fun just so have conversations, watch movies with her."

There's a new girl coming to Broadway.
Cast by the country icon herself, Zooey Deschanel will play Loretta Lynn in an upcoming stage musical about the singer's life, Coal Miner's Daughter, producers for the Broadway-bound production have announced.
Lynn personally introduced Deschanel Thursday night on the stage of Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium during Opry Country Classics. The two then sang "Coal Miner's Daughter."
"It's a long way from Butcher Holler to Broadway in New York City. I never imagined I'd see Coal Miner's Daughter on a movie screen, and now I can't believe it's going to be on a stage for people to see," Lynn, 77, said in a statement.

Some of the biggest names in music are honoring one of the biggest legends.
After Levon Helm, the drummer for The Band, died Thursday at 71, Sheryl Crow took to Twitter to express her condolences.
"My heart [is] heavy with sad news of Levon Helm's passing," she wrote. "My thoughts and prayers are with Levon's family."
Also Tweeting about the late Helm, who had cancer: Maroon 5 frontman and The Voice coach Adam Levine.

It was musicians' night at West Hollywood's Chateau Marmont.
Singer John Mayer was looking for a table to meet up with friends at the famed hotel during a recent night out. The singer sported a large, cream-colored cowboy hat and a fitted, dark jacket, and seemed calm and composed during his visit to the packed nightspot. Also on the patio that night: Zooey Deschanel, who took a spot in a secluded section with a girlfriend. The New Girl star – and She & Him singer – seemed "cheery and perky," an onlooker tells us.
And Lenny Kravitz (starring in the upcoming The Hunger Games) was hanging out with an entourage of about six pals, and he held court on a sofa, which was barricaded off by chairs to protect the group.
