After being misidentified as a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings in a closed captioning error, Zooey Deschanel has received a formal apology.
Caption Solutions, the Kansas-based company behind the typo, "deeply" regrets the error and they "sincerely apologize," President Kala J. Patterson said in a statement, first received by the New York Post.
The mistake occurred while the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings was being pursued by investigators during a manhunt on April 19.

With a name like Zooey Deschanel, chances are the actress has suffered her fair share of mix-ups and mispronunciations – but nothing like quite like this.
While the second suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings was being pursued by investigators during a manhunt on Friday, Dallas-Fort Worth's Fox 4 had a closed caption fail for the record books.
As a news anchor read aloud the name of 19-year-old suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, closed captioning on screen read, "He is 19-year-old Zooey Deschanel."

Looks like the New Girl took home some new girls of her own.
Zooey Deschanel rescued a pair of pooches from Los Angeles's Bill Foundation, she announced on Twitter Wednesday.
"I have to thank the #billfoundation for the greatest, sweetest, most wonderful dogs in the world," she wrote of her canine companions, whom she named Zelda and Dot. "Apples of my eye!"

From New Girl to cover girl!
On Monday night, friends and guests of Zooey Deschanel celebrated the actress's Glamour cover at the new eatery RivaBella in West Hollywood.
In the restaurant's "wine cave" private dining room, guests enjoyed signature Bella Bellinis made with Belvedere vodka, housemade peach puree, peach bitters and Mionetto Prosecco.
Hosted by Cindi Leive, the magazine's editor-in-chief, the soiree featured dishes like roasted octopus salad with potatoes, Taggiasche olives and salsa verde, and beef tenderloin tagliata with arugula.

Everybody danced like a galloping horse, thanks to "Gangnam Style."
Everyone sang "Call Me Maybe" – even Barack Obama. (Well, sort of.)
And everyone wondered why Zooey Deschanel asked, "Siri, is that rain?" when she was standing by a window in an iPhone commercial.
These and more were the viral videos of the year – the clips you posted on Facebook, shared on Twitter and clustered around your coworker's computer to watch over and over.
