New shade? Time to take it out on the town!
Sporting a fresh new hair color, Taryn Manning hosted a private dinner for her colorist Beth Minardi on Tuesday in New York City.
The Orange Is the New Black star chose The Lion restaurant for her event, with the meal taking place inside a library-like room. Beauty editors and people close to Minardi were also in tow.
Showing off her new cinnamon toast-shaded mane, Manning, clad in Catherine Malandrino, "was in good spirits and arrived with a female friend," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "She looked great and expressed excitement over having a night of beauty, given that her TV character is the complete opposite."

Avery, 33, who played for the Detroit Red Wings, the Los Angeles Kings, the Dallas Stars and the New York Rangers during his 12-year NHL career (and is also a former intern at Vogue) complimented his bride-to-be perfectly, wearing a dark navy shirt that matched the flowers on her dress.
