Jennifer Hudson is Oscar-ready – not just for the Academy Awards (for which she's nominated as Best Supporting Actress for Dreamgirls), but for designer Oscar de la Renta, whose fashion house she visited in preparation for Hollywood's big night, the Idol star says in Vogue's March cover story.

"I've got my Oscar already!" Hudson tells writer Andre Leon Talley during her VIP visit to de la Renta's New York City showroom, where the couturier personally oversaw her fitting for her Oscar dress. "It was my dream to be in an Oscar de la Renta dress. And I love what he has designed for me. It is youthful, sexy, and at the same time, there is something funky about the combination. It's bad, as in bad means 'It is great.' "

"What's great about Jennifer is her extraordinary skin, and her choice of color is totally unexpected," de la Renta tells Talley about Hudson's dress pick. "Everyone will expect her to be in something flashy."

And besides the potential that she'll go home with a golden trophy on Feb. 25, what's next for Hudson? "My album comes out in the spring. And I will have my first single out," she tells Vogue. "I've met with directors Thomas Carter and Quentin Tarantino. Kill Bill – that was bad. There are three movie scripts I am reading, but they are not musicals. It will be serious drama, my next movie. And my dream is to make a gospel album .... I can tell you, I want to be around for a long time, singing and making albums and movies."
