The day after appearing as a mentor on
Idol, Jennifer Lopez's went on Ryan Seacrest's morning radio show to give props to the contestants – especially for taking the tough criticism from the judges. "It's hard to put yourself up there every week and go, 'Hey, do you guys like me?' " Lopez said. "That’s a tough place to be. I take my hat off to all of them." Especially Haley Scarnato, who got the brunt of Simon Cowell's tough criticism – for both her performance of Gloria Estefan's cover of Vickie Sue Robinson's "Turn the Beat Around"
and her outfit (which he deemed a "good tactic – wear as least amount of clothing as possible"). "That was just brutal," Lopez told Seacrest. "I don't think that was the right thing, and I don't think that was the way she was feeling." Bottom line: Lopez says, "She put herself out there with that one. I think she still did a good job."
