Last Night's Idol: What You Didn't See

Tressed to Impress: Audience members in the Idol house got to meet the man behind Sanjaya's many hairstyles – which on Tuesday night was a teased do topped with a country music-appropriate red bandanna. During the commercial break, Idol's warmup comedian introduced "the guy responsible for Sanjaya's hair" and stylist Dean Banowetz had his moment in the spotlight as he shook hands with a few people in the crowd. But the judges were in their own world: Paula, Simon and Randy were joking with each other and could not stop laughing.
Kodak Moment: After Jordin Sparks's praises from the judges, she could not seem to leave the stage. The 17-year-old singer – whom Simon proclaimed had a shot at winning the show – stayed up there with a huge smile on her face. Finally, Sanjaya came over to her and they embraced in a long hug before Jordin finally waltzed off so Sanjaya could perform. "She doesn't want to leave the stage," Ryan Seacrest joked. Who could blame a girl?
Flower Power: Paula Abdul had a special fan in the audience: a gentleman admirer who brought her a bouquet of fresh spring flowers wrapped in green tissue paper. The fan held onto the blooms until the show ended and presented them to the judge personally, who was thrilled and thanked and hugged him for his fragrant gift.
Battle of the Fans: One of the funniest signs of the night? A female audience member holding a sign with a picture of Sanjaya's No. 1 fan, Ashley Ferl, that read 'I love Sanjaya more than this girl.' Hey, Ashley might beg to differ!
Puppet Master: Though he normally interacts a lot with the audience members, Ryan Seacrest stayed quiet during most of the commercial breaks. That is, until the host spotted someone with a stuffed unicorn puppet. He proceeded to play with it and hold it up for cameras right up until the end of the break.
