Meet the French Sanjaya!

Now that Sanjaya withdrawal may be setting in, we present his French doppelgänger, so to speak: 24-year-old Julien, one of the finalists on Nouvelle Star – the popular French version of American Idol, which, it turns out, is the U.S. version of England's Pop Idol!

Late-night talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel has compared the Frenchman to Sanjaya for his butchering of Madonna's "Like a Virgin." Of course, Julien needs to work on some different hairstyles if he wants to be on par with the 17-year-old American.

But according to Nouvelle Star's official Web site, Julien has his own flair with a "quiet appearance" and "overflowing energy." The crooner, however, manages to burn off some of that energy in an interesting (French?) pre-show ritual: "I vomit. If not, I drink beers," he said. Mon dieu!

Take a look at the charismatic, yet vocally challenged French contestant as he sings Madonna's "Like a Virgin" – ready to get your "art bit" (translation: heart beat) up for the very first time?
