Week One
Sabrina Bryan may be best known as a member of Disney's Cheetah Girls. But after scoring the highest opening-round marks in the history of Dancing with the Stars (26 out of 30!) for her cha cha cha with partner Mark Ballas, this 23-year-old is making a name for herself in the ballroom. We caught up with the multi-platinum singer to talk about her performance, her DWTS wardrobe and who she's bonding with backstage:On dancing the cha cha cha: It was supposed to be fierce and have a lot of charisma, but more on like a sassy, sexy way.
On this week's outfit: I loved the fringe, although when you twist really fast it hurts! ... When I first came out the dress was cut really low and I was like "Whoa, guys. I'm a Cheetah Girl. I'm not trying shock my moms out there!" I just want to be classy and fun and edgy when I can and sophisticated for the ballroom dances.
On bonding with the cast: I love Jennie Garth! She's amazing. Melanie B. is a firecracker. I just love being around her because she's so freakin' funny! Wayne Newton is absolutely adorable. The most amazing person I've ever met. He's classy, completely professional. I just want to learn as much as I can from him.
On what happens behind the scenes: Most of the dancers have been here forever, and all the hair and makeup and wardrobe people – it's their fifth season. So you come in and it's like you're walking into a well-oiled machine.
On her DWTS hairstyles: I've been racking through magazines upon magazines, but most of the styling is either down and straight or down and curly. So trying to find new up-dos is a little bit hard.
On dancing the quickstep next week: It's all about trying to be elegant and showing a different side of me other than this crazy Cheetah Girl.
