Brooke Shields arrived at the PEOPLE-sponsored Entertainment Tonight Emmy Party ready to dance.
Once she found the roped-off VIP section at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Shields – who presented the award for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series with Craig Ferguson – hopped on one of the seats to get a better view of Billy Idol as he performed his 1981 hit "Dancing with Myself."
"None of this is relaxing," Shields told PEOPLE at the party. "I'll relax tomorrow."
On-screen Desperate Housewives couple Dana Delany and Nathan Fillion got cozy at the party. They stood arm-in-arm during Idol's performance, and held hands as they took an elevator upstairs.
Other attendees included pregnant Saturday Night Live star Amy Poehler and husband Will Arnett, who chatted with Pushing Daisies actress Kristin Chenoweth, as well as Paula Abdul, Valerie Bertinelli and Joely Fisher, who says she doesn't usually look as glamorous as she did in her Jenny Packham dress.
"I was leaving the house tonight and my daughter was like 'Mom, you don't look like you,'" Fisher said.
Among the night's other guests: How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris, Pushing Daisies' Chi McBride, Heroes' Masi Oka and Top Chef judge Gail Simmons.
