The vigils continue for Michael Jackson, 18 days after his death.

One of the largest was held Monday in London, on the night that would have marked the King of Pop's stage comeback.

But in lieu of a concert, several hundred fans from around the world sang Jackson hits, played his music and lit candles in remembrance as they gathered at the O2 Arena.

"I've come here to celebrate his life and I want to feel a bit closer," Alison Pyman, 27, from the English town of Cleethorpes, told the BBC. "We've been reminiscing and sharing memories with everyone. When more people arrive there will quite a party atmosphere."

Jester Hauton, 31, from Copenhagen, had been planning to watch his hero for the first five gigs. "We should have been going to the concert but we're standing here instead," he told the BBC. "The main thing is a celebration of Michael."
