Win or lose, it will be a hot night for all the stars at television's Emmy Awards
this year – sizzling red hot, to be exact.
The theme for the Governors Ball
following the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sept. 23 is "A Romantic Rhapsody in Red," and the Los Angeles Convention Center will be decked out in the bold color for the occasion.
"Our goal is to welcome our thousands of guests into a romantic, dramatic embrace," says Governors Ball Chair Joe Stewart. "Everything must be very elegant … and say 'classic timelessness.' "
To add drama to the space, massive rose "petals" will be suspended overhead, while 200,000 fresh-cut roses will adorn 380 tables draped in red linens.
For dinner, guests including nominees Jim Parsons and Sofia Vergara
and host Jimmy Kimmel
will feast on a smoked salmon avocado sphere appetizer and an entrée of roast tenderloin, mushroom risotto fries, parsnip creamed spinach and pearl onions with a red wine sauce.
Those with a sweet tooth can look forward to a white chocolate raspberry cake with fresh picked raspberries and a raspberry macaroon lollipop.
The 64th Primetime Emmy Awards will air live at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT) on Sunday, Sept. 23, on ABC.
