This weekend while Twilight fans are swooning over Taylor Lautner's abs and Robert Pattinson's vampire charm, they could be joined by an actual Eclipse star.

Peter Facinelli, who plays papa vampire Carlisle Cullen in the movie franchise, says that he and several costars plan to visit theaters on Friday to experience the Twilight mania with fans.

"What I love about the Twilight community is that it’s such a powerful thing to watch when people come together for a common cause," Facinelli, 36, told PEOPLE Wednesday while also promoting Glad's new initiative to support the non-profit Cookies for Kids Cancer. "I'm a fan of the book too, so when you all come together for the love of one thing, it's a really special feeling."

Fellow star Anna Kendrick, 24, also hinted that she might sneak into a screening – to see the trailer for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which precedes the third Twilight movie. "It would be really awkward if I bought a ticket to Eclipse just to see that [trailer] on the big screen, right?" she Tweeted Wednesday.

As for Eclipse's record-setting opening day – the movie made more than $30 million from midnight screenings on Wednesday, according to its distributor Summit Entertainment – Facinelli chose to mark the occasion with his real life leading lady: wife Jennie Garth.

"I am at my wife's set," he said Wednesday. "She is shooting a movie that I wrote for the Hallmark Channel, so I'm hanging out with her."

And after that? "I'll take my kids to dinner," said the doting dad.
