It's enough to turn your Christmas into a big old weep-fest: An Iowa woman who died of cancer in 2011 just surprised her family with gifts from beyond the grave.
Brenda Schmitz was suffering from a terminal case of ovarian cancer in 2011 when she gave a friend a set of secret instructions: When her husband David had moved on with another woman, give his new family a Christmas they'd never forget.

Working through a local radio station's longstanding holiday wish-granting program, Brenda asked for three special gifts: a vacation for the family she left behind, a holiday party for the hospital staff who looked after her, and finally "a day, or better yet, a weekend, of pampering" for the new woman in David's life.

When David got engaged to a woman named Jayne, the anonymous friend sent in Brenda's request to the radio station, who happily made all three of her wishes come true. The couple, along with David's four children and Jayne's two, will travel to Disney World.
"I'm speechless," Jayne told NBC News. "She's making me feel special."
