Palace aides say she was checking out one of a number of venues, and that the couple – who parted as Prince William headed to North Wales to resume work as a Search and Rescue helicopter pilot – have yet to make a decision. Not that this has not stopped talk that they are set to announce the Abbey – the same place where the funeral of William's mother Princess Diana was held – as the setting for their wedding.
As memorabilia and special china to mark the big day kicks into production in the U.K, so has a claim arisen that the couple favor March as a possible wedding month. But aides say that the big event could just as easily take place in summer wedding. Insiders say the actual date will possibly be revealed in the next few days.
Speaking to PEOPLE early Thursday, a spokeswoman at the prince's office would only say, "Miss Middleton paid a private visit to Westminster Abbey to meet key staff there in order to consider it as an option. They will consult further with their families before making a final decision."
