Even as she was officially becoming a Duchess and wife to a Prince, Catherine proved she was no royal pain to deal with!
Quite the contrary, says Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton, who designed Kate's stunning dress for her walk down the Westminster Abbey aisle.
"It was made for her and has a lot of her personality in it," Burton told a group of shoppers Tuesday at a Saks Fifth Avenue event in New York City. According to WWD, the designer revealed the princess was absolutely lovely to work with, telling one customer that the Duchess of Cambridge was really low maintenance and that the collaboration on the famed wedding dress between them was 50-50.
As for the rest of Kate's family, including sister Pippa Middleton, Burton said they were all "really nice and down to earth." And despite all the hard work of designing the dress, she said there were many entertaining parts of the process, including the seemingly impossible task of keeping the secret of the year!
"The most fun I had was trying to hide," she told guests at the event. "We laughed a lot about that."
