It was a day of royals, rain and, of course, more fabulous fascinators at the Royal Ascot.

Aside from being Ladies' Day at the races, it was also a big day for Carole Middleton, who arrived in a horse-drawn carriage as part of the royal procession with Queen Elizabeth.

the Duchess of Cambridge's mother donned a subdued champagne colored suit and matching hat, while the Queen opted for a cheery pink hat and suit. After her Philip Treacy creation caused a stir at the royal wedding, Princess Beatrice chose to play it safe in navy blue number.

The rainy day didn't keep other race-goers from breaking out their best headpieces. Everything from balloon hats to black swan fascinators were on display.

It's been busy couple weeks at the races for the royals. Earlier this month Prince William and his bride attended the Epson Derby, where they cheered on the Queen's prized horse.
