The British are coming – and soon!

This week's BAFTA "Brits to Watch" in partnership with Audi event, to be attended by Prince William and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge on the California leg of their North American tour, boasts a guest list of 42 up-and-coming stars from the U.K.

BAFTA says these newcomers "highlight the incredible depth and range of great British talent," and here's who will be brushing shoulders with the royal couple at downtown Los Angeles's historic Belasco Theater on July 9:

Jessica Brown Findlay, 21
Findlay always planned on being a professional performer – just not an actress. Growing up, she wanted to be a ballerina, but an ankle injury jolted her career path, according to her IMDB bio. Best known for playing Lady Sybil Crawley on period drama Downton Abbey, Nylon magazine called her "the best thing in a bonnet since Keira [Knightley] in Pride and Prejudice."

Tom Hughes, 26
He gets Emma Watson's stamp of approval. Hughes struck a pose with the Harry Potter star in the Burberry Spring/Summer 2010 campaign. His credits include a starring role in 2010 coming-of-age comedy Cemetery Junction and BBC drama series Silk, and the actor can be seen next alongside Rachel Weisz in Page Eight, which will air on PBS this fall.

Juno Temple, 21
Leading lady alert! After earning recognition for her performances in Notes on a Scandal and Atonement, the actress has since secured her spot on the big screen. She plays Queen Anne opposite Orlando Bloom in The Three Musketeers, which arrives in theaters in October, and is currently filming The Dark Knight Rises.

Daniel Kaluuya, 21
Actor – or gangster? Kaluuya came to fame in the original cast of Skins, where he played Posh Kenneth, a teen who yearns to fit in on the other side of the tracks. He's also taken his talent to YouTube: he teamed up with pal and fellow actor Jason Lewis in 2009 to parody British band Boy Better Know's "Too Many Man" with a track they dubbed "Too Many Weave."

Harry Lloyd, 27
Talent runs in the family: Lloyd is the great-great-great-grandson of literary legend Charles Dickens. His royal connection? He plays Viserys Targaryen in HBO's Game of Thrones, where his character is teased as the "beggar king." His other credits include BBC drama Robin Hood and the recent book-to-film adaptation of Jane Eyre.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw, 27
Come fall, she'll be hitting the small screen with one of TV's biggest veterans: Kiefer Sutherland. Mbatha-Raw will join the former 24 star on Fox's Touch, which debuts mid-television season. But right now she's costarring with Hollywood heavy-hitters Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts in Larry Crowne.

Talulah Riley, 25
Riley's no stranger to the States. The Pride and Prejudice actress lives with her husband, PayPal co-founder Elon Musk, in Bel Air, Calif. Riley has also worked with several Hollywood heavy-hitters, from an appearance with Leonardo DiCaprio as a blonde projection in Inception to a leading lady role alongside Robert Pattinson in the short film The Summer House.

Owain Yeoman, 32
On TV, Yeoman takes a stance against crime as special agent Wayne Rigsby on CBS's The Mentalist. In real life, he takes a stance against steak. In 2009, the vegetarian stripped down for a People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals ad. The Welsh actor made his film debut as Lysander in 2004's Troy and also starred alongside Bradley Cooper in Fox's Kitchen Confidential.
