Her last time at a royal wedding, the Duchess of Cambridge was the bride. On Saturday, she'll be a guest at Zara Phillips's nuptials.

Prince William's cousin is marrying rugby player Mike Tindall in Edinburgh, Scotland. The ceremony begins at 3 p.m.

Friday night – which happens to be the 30th anniversary of the day William's parents, Lady Diana Spencer and Prince Charles, married – guests are gathering, with younger members expected to party on the Windsor's retired vessel, the Royal Yacht Britannia, now moored in Leith docks.

Among the last-minute preparations at Canongate Kirk, in the Scottish capital: the installation of white roses and beech tree branches, and the delivery of other white blooms, such as carnations and stargazer lilies. And, Zara, Mike and Princess Anne were spotted arriving Friday evening for the rehearsal.

The wedding of Phillips, 30, and Tindall, 32, whose engagement was announced last December, will mark the first time William and Kate have been seen together since their tour of Canada and Los Angeles earlier this month.

While in Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be called by their titles in Scotland, the Earl and Countess of Strathearn.

The Phillips-Tindall wedding will be much different from William and Kate's April festivities. Although the new bride and groom will party in a palace – Holyroodhouse, the family's seat in Edinburgh – there will be no TV cameras, little memorabilia for sale and no crowds lining the streets.

There will also be no horse-drawn carriages, either. Phillips and her attendants will leave Holyroodhouse by car and return in a fleet of luxury vehicles after the service.

Phillips, who is Queen Elizabeth's eldest granddaughter, is said to be wearing Stuart Parvin, something her reps won't confirm. Similarly, there is no word on who'll form the bridal party

What is known: the couple have dispensed with a honeymoon. Equestrian Phillips has commitments in her career as a show-jumper, while Tindall is due back at the England rugby training camp on Monday.
