Need a gift for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge? First make sure they don't already have it.

For instance, she has a blue hat – a present from Canada's Minister of Alberta Health and Wellness, from their visit last year. And he has a wooden mantel clock and trinket box from Australia's mayor of Gannawarra, from a spring 2011 trip Down Under.

In fact, you name it, they probably have it – as was made evident on Prince Charles's website Tuesday with the release of the complete list of gifts given to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on official overseas tours during 2011.

It's quite a list, as one can imagine. The standouts among the cufflinks, T-shirts, tartan fascinators and commemorative medallions include a bottle of Champagne from well-wishers in Quebec and a jar of Vegemite from fans Down Under, an iPad from the governor of California, and – no joke – four coasters from the Santa Barbara coroner.

From the Canada Post came a box of mailed correspondence (no mention of whose).

Also, as the list also makes clear, William and Kate will never run out of scented soaps, baseball caps, hoodies and hand towels if they live to be 500. Wonder if they believe in re-gifting?
