Prince William has said he would like to start a family one day but while visiting Singapore, the future king revealed his hope to have two children with his wife Kate.

During a tour of the city's Gardens in the Bay on Wednesday, Corine Ackermann, 17, overheard a confident fan asking a question about potential additions to the royal family.

"Someone asked him how many children he would like to have and he said he was thinking about having two," Ackermann, a student at the Tanglin Trust School, said.

As the royals toured the Gardens, the luckiest of the 1,000-strong crowd got a glimpse of Kate, dressed in a white Alexander McQueen broderie anglaise suit, and William in navy.

In addition to being asked by young admirers about the ideal super power – both said they would choose invisibility – Kate was asked about another secret weapon.

"I asked [Kate] how she kept her hair so perfect in this weather, because it's so humid. Mine always poofs up," Ella Major, 15, said. "She was afraid that her hair might be the same way in a few minutes. She said that her hair would poof up soon enough."

Not likely: the Duchess of Cambridge is traveling with a new hairdresser, Amanda Tucker, on the royal couple's nine-day tour of Asia to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
