Does someone know something the royal couple claims they don't?
While Prince William
and wife Kate
have long said they don’t know the sex of their much-awaited baby, a bookmaking firm in the U.K. has received an increase in bets on one particular name.
And that is, Charlotte.
Coral Bookmakers has slashed the odds in half on the name, reducing it from 12-1 to 6-1, and has amended the odds on the royal tot being a girl to 2-7.
As with other bookmakers, such as Ladbrokes, a girl has long been a favorite.
"But we’ve seen more money [recently], and that has been further supported by the gamble on Charlotte, which is now second only to Alexandra in the name betting," said Coral's spokesman David Stevens.
How stand the bookies' odds?
6-1 (from 12-1) Charlotte, Elizabeth, Diana
16-1 Alice, Frances, Mary
25-1 All others
And ... Girl:
2-7 (from 1-2)
Boy: 11-4 (from 6-4)
