Prince William, 31, and Duchess Kate, 31, are sending notes of thanks to all the well-wishers who reached out to the couple (and included a return address) following the already rascally royal heir's birth on July 22, Kensington Palace confirms.
The image on the front of the card is of the family as they stood on the steps of the Lindo Wing and greeted the public for the first time. It was taken at the time by their own photographer.
The never-before-seen photo shows the trio at a slightly different angle than other images featuring Kate in her instantly-infamous cornflower blue and white polka dot Jenny Packham dress, cradling Prince George Alexander Louis in her arms as his proud father looks on.
"Their Royal Highnesses have been overwhelmed by all the wonderful messages and gifts they have received and send you their warmest thanks and best wishes," reads a note on the back of one card.
A palace spokesperson said they "are slowly going through the backlog" of all the warm wishes sent by members of the public, and cards will continue to be sent out over the coming weeks.
This is not the first time the royal couple has acknowledged the public's outpouring of support for their growing family. The Palace said the couple sent thank you notes to well-wishers who congratulated them on their pregnancy, and that card featured Kate in another Jenny Packham frock.
