Prince William is making strides in his royal career.

The future king greeted the president of South Korea, Park Geun-hye, in London on Tuesday, standing in for Queen Elizabeth for the first time during a state visit.

The Duke of Cambridge joined Park in a ceremony to break ground on a new Korean War Memorial. Park's three-day stay will also include a ride in the royal carriage, a tour of Westminster Abbey, a viewing of Korean artwork at the royal art gallery and a banquet at the palace, USA Today reports.

William also had his first chance to bestow knighthoods recently, another duty typically performed by his grandmother.

Tennis champion Andy Murray was one of the honorees to receive his OBE medal from the prince that day, and noted that William appeared at ease with his new responsibility.

"He seemed very relaxed," Murray said.
