When Prince William and Princess Kate touch down in India this weekend for their official royal tour of the country, PEOPLE will be right there with them!

PEOPLE's royal correspondent Simon Perry, who landed in India Friday, will be on the scene, ready to capture the royal couple's every move, including their much-anticipated visit to the majestic Taj Mahal, their glam night out in Mumbai and their first face-to-face with the Will and Kate of the Himalayas – King Jigme and Queen Jetsun.

"It's 12:30 a.m. and we have just hurtled through the busy freeways from the airport to downtown Mumbai – and its still buzzing," Perry shares from India.

"When William and Kate arrive they can expect it to be very hot," he continues. "It's a sticky 84 degrees right now."

Arrived at our hotel in Mumbai. It's nighttime but the place is buzzing. Looking forward to #RoyalVisitIndia

During the six-day tour, all eyes will also be on Kate's impeccable style – and the potential for 20 outfit changes!

And while Will and Kate are sure to provide plenty of unforgettable moments throughout the week, the only thing missing will be Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who are staying behind with nanny Maria Turrion Borrallo.

Continue to check PEOPLE's Royals channel for the latest on the couple's trip, which officially kicks off this Sunday.

"We heard the other night that Kate likes spicy food, but that William's not as keen," Perry adds. "Here's hoping they get to sample a lot of the cuisine. I'm certainly looking forward to it!"
