With her hair pulled back, Kate stunned in a sari-inspired glittering blue gown by Jenny Packham as she joined husband Prince William, who wore a dashing tux, for photos on the red carpet. The royal couple surprised photographers when they stopped for a few photos on their way into the party.
Since they arrived in India, Kate has shown off a series of gorgeous outfits. Earlier in the day, she stunned in a red paisley-printed dress by Alexander McQueen. She then took to the cricket field in a tunic-inspired dress by Mumbai designer Anita Dongre. For her Bollywood party look, Kate wore earrings by Indian jeweler Amrapali – and the intricate beading on her gown was done in India.

"She really wanted to wear a local designer at the earliest possible opportunity as a tribute to Mumbai's wonderful design talent," a royal source said. "This dress is a perfect way to do that."
Actress Madhuri Dixit told reporters after she had met with the royal couple that they talked about Indian movies.
"We talked about Indian movies and how they're getting popular everywhere," she said. "[Kate] said she loves being here and the people are very welcoming this time, but she was worried she may miss her children."
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan had praise for the couple – especially Kate.
"Is it ok to say she's extremely beautiful and elegant? Well she is," he joked with reporters. "If they spend more time here I think they'll love it. I could definitely show them a good time! I'll take them out."
The party, which will raise funds for several local children's charities, was also attended by celebrities in the world of sports, business and Bollywood, and capped off an exciting day that saw the couple immerse themselves in Indian culture.
Outside the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, crowds gathered to eagerly watch the arrivals of the 200 guests.
Richard Hawkes, chief executive of the British Asian Trust, which helped host the party, said: "It's absolutely fantastic for us. It's going to raise a lot of money for the organisztions we support.
