In honor of the Queen's upcoming milestone 90th birthday, Audible Studios has released a new audiobook, Elizabeth II: Life of a Monarch, that looks at her life from childhood princess to the country's longest reigning monarch.

Written by Ruth Cowen, the audio version (and only version) of the biography is narrated with a special royal touch: Jennie Bond, the former BBC royal correspondent for 15 years. The "characters" of the Queen's life are portrayed with a cast of voices, plus real-life sound bites from important moments in the monarch's life like her 21st birthday trip to South Africa, Princess Diana's death and the Diamond Jubilee.

PEOPLE can exclusively debut two clips from the audiobook – one describing the Queen's infamous 21st birthday speech in South Africa, and how she dealt with Princess Diana's death, the aftermath and her golden anniversary with Prince Charles.

Elizabeth II: Life of a Monarch is available exclusively on Audible on April 12.
