It will be another six to eight weeks before it's determined what killed singer Whitney Houston at age 48, a Los Angeles coroner official said Sunday.

"We need additional testing," Coroner Assistant Chief Ed Winter told reporters. "We won't make that final determination until all the tests are in."

Citing a security hold on the case, Winter would only confirm that Houston's body was found in the bathtub in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton.

"There were no visible signs of trauma on the body," he said.

Winter declined to address rumors that the singer may have drowned, who initially discovered her body, or if there were any prescription or illegal drugs in her room.

Asked about reports that Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina was barred from viewing her mother's body at the hotel, he replied, "No, that is not true."

Winter had no information on when Houston's remains would be released to her family and said no viewings would be allowed at the coroner's office.
