Prince Harry to Be Warmly Welcomed by U.S. Women's Beach Volleyball Team
Prince Harry has made no secret of his admiration of women's beach volleyball – and the skills of the super-toned athletes who play the Olympic sport.
And the fondness goes both ways.
The women of the U.S. team are making it clear he's warmly welcomed to watch them. "We do really hope he shows up to one of our matches," April Ross, 30, told The Times. "We would love to meet him. He's so cute. And he's so popular in the U.S., obviously. It would be so exciting."
It looks like they may get their wish.
The prince, 27, who showed off his attempts at the game on the beach on a visit to Brazil in March, is set to take his place in the stands where a "beach" has been created at Horse Guards Parade, near Buckingham Palace, as the medals are decided in the second week of the games.
In the meantime, the volleyball players have been reaching out to him.
"We've tried as hard as we can to get in touch with Prince Harry," Ross told reporters. "We've Tweeted him, we've stalked him Facebook. We thought because he was so into volleyball he would have got back to us. But no luck so far."
And Harry isn't the only royal the women would like to see. Earlier this month, Ross Tweeted that she was "hoping Kate comes to one of our matches."
