Tuning into the Olympics promises plenty of excitement on the court or field or pool, of course. But sometimes what happens in the stands can be just as exciting.

Yes, we're talking about the watching the masses – specifically the athletes' parents as they cheer and react to their children's Olympic performances.

Michael Phelps's mother, Debbie, has long been a poolside fixture, watching intensely as her son competes. And it was a bit of a viral smash to watch Aly Raisman's folks, Lynn and Rick, squirm in their seats as she competed on the uneven bars. There is also gymnast John Orozco, who had mom Damaris Orozco shouting from the stands, while Danell Leyva's stepfather (and coach) Yin Alvarez hooted it up on the sidelines.

Have any of them caught your eye?
