The royal couple greeted their homeland's finest 2012 Summer Olympics competitors at their accommodations in Athletes' Village, including cyclist Victoria Pendleton (pictured), on Tuesday.
A hat-sporting William, who chatted with Pendleton, and Kate had plenty to celebrate with the athletes, after all: Earlier, cousin Zara Phillips became the first British royal to win a silver medal, an honor she earned as part of the five-member Team GB equestrian team.
The Duke and Duchess, both 30, joined by Prince Harry, 27, toured the living quarters at Olympic Park in London's East End and also met with the Australian team, according to USA Today. And in the same fashion they rooted on Phillips, athletes stood on their balconies to cheer for the royals.
