Many parents at the Winter Olympics have gone out of their way to support their kids' dreams, but few have gone as far as Brett West.

West, the father of 18-year-old luger Tucker West, revealed in an interview with Today that he once built his son an 800-foot luge course in their backyard, a feat he called "the pinnacle of my fatherhood."

But now that he's helped Tucker make the Olympic team, Brett's moved on to a different task: getting his son a date.

"To all the young ladies out there, Tucker is very single," Brett told the morning show from Sochi, Russia, where he was cheering on Tucker's 22nd-place finish in the men's singles luge event.

"He's a little shy so you'll have to reach out to him," Brett cautioned, before plugging his son's Facebook page, where he promised Tucker would respond to every entreaty.

Fans of the 18-year old, the youngest luger in Olympic history, took to Twitter to register their surprise, and of course, volunteer their services.

Like any good son, Tucker was simultaneously embarrassed and delighted by the stunt:

West's Olympics are over – though he didn't medal, he says he was still happy with his result – and now the teen luger he's looking ahead to the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. If Tucker's dad has his way, he won't be attending alone.
