UPDATE:You got us, Jimmy Kimmel. The Kansas City Star is reporting that an earlier video of a wolf roaming a Sochi hotel, tweeted by Olympian luger Kate Hansen, is actually a hoax orchestrated by the talk show host. A rep from the United States Luge Association confirmed with Inside Edition that the show worked with Hansen to spread the video. The 21-year-old luger will join Kimmel on Thursday night via Skype to talk about the Winter Games – and, most likely, this playful prank.
American luger and Beyoncé enthusiast Kate Hansen is here to show you the wild side of Sochi.
On Thursday, the Olympian Tweeted a video of a wolf roaming outside her hotel room. "Wolf in my hall?!? #SochiProblems #SochiFail," Hansen captioned the clip.
The footage shows Hansen's hotel door cracked open, looking out on an empty hall. Soon, the furry stranger casually struts by. The wolf ignores the 21-year-old luger and continues to survey the digs before turning a corner and going off screen.
This isn't Sochi's first surprise animal appearance. Stray dogs – and cats – continue to drop into the Olympic Games. While some athletes are bringing animals back home, Hansen should probably let this one stay in Russia.
