For the fourth year in a row, PEOPLE teamed up with the Academy for the PEOPLE Fan Experience to give 700 fans, including 200 VIP subscribers, the chance to get up close and personal at this year's awards ceremony – and are they excited!
PEOPLE & EW editorial director Jess Cagle stopped by the red carpet bleachers, where the fans were cheering with excitement as celebrities started to arrive.
"We have our PEOPLE VIP subscribers who have been here since 8:30 a.m. this morning to see all of the celebrities walk down the red carpet," said PEOPLE publisher Karen Kovacs.
One fan came all the way from Cheyenne, Wyoming to attend the big night and of course see Leonardo DiCaprio.
"He's always been my favorite actor since I was younger and he was in Titanic," she told PEOPLE.

Another fan shared a photo of Al Rocker helping the crowd get "hyped" for the big arrivals.
"Al Roker is getting the crowd HYPED!" she wrote.
Throughout the "PEOPLE & EW Red Carpet Live" pre-show, social media influencer Jack Douglass, host of JacksFilms on the live broadcasting platform YouNow, will talk with some of the lucky fans to get their thoughts on this year's nominees and all the A-list stars walking the carpet.
The 88th annual Awards, hosted by Chris Rock, are being presented live on ABC from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.
