Just one day after reuniting with Ben Affleck to throw their son a birthday party, Jennifer Garner and the actor wound up at the same Oscars soiree, where they were spotted briefly greeting each other.
Both stars attended the famed 2016 Vanity Fair Oscar Party hosted by Graydon Carter, mingling with the likes of Best Actor and Actress winners Leonardo DiCaprio and Brie Larson.
When they initially arrived, the amicable exes were seen standing a few feet away from each other without interacting as they chatted with fellow party guests.
Later in the evening, Affleck and Garner shared a friendly hug and a kiss, and at one point Garner held his lapels as she appeared to compliment his look. The two later parted ways, with Garner staying toward the back of the room with close friends Victor Garber and J.J. Abrams.
(Earlier, Affleck was spotted meeting up with pal and Best Actor nominee Matt Damon on the patio.)
"They had a nice moment where they caught up and a lot of their friends were there – and they chatted and then they left," a source tells PEOPLE of the former couple.

Garner, who presented during the awards with Benicio Del Toro looked sophisticated in an off-the-shoulder black Atelier Versace gown.
Affleck also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Sunday, jokingly smuggling Damon onto the late-night show's set as part of a long-running gag with the host.
On Friday, Garner's illuminating cover interview with Vanity Fair was published, dropping several bombshells about her painful split from Affleck after 10 years of marriage.
Garner said that Affleck's alleged affair with the couple's nanny (which he vehemently denies) came after their decision to separate, and that she would marry him all over again if she had to "go back" in time.
