When he was nominated for his first Academy Award in 2007, Gosling shared the big night with his mother. "My mom deserves it," he told Nightline, "because I was a little jerk. ... But she didn't care. She just kept doing the right thing by me, every single time. ... (And) she deserves to go to a fancy party and have a bunch of fancy people tell her she did a good job."
