THEN: One of the most iconic figures of early '90s gangsta rap, Snoop performed at the 1993 ceremony – and then turned himself in to authorities after he was wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting death.
NOW: He's gone from California to Candy Land! The rapper lent his famous drawl to Katy Perry's "California Gurls," which was nominated for a video of the year in 2010. In 2012, he changed his name to Snoop Lion after experiencing a "spiritual and artistic rebirth" in Jamaica. Lion or Dogg (he's back to Dogg), the man will never stop finding himself at the center of controversy.
