Motherhood was something Flockhart was very excited about, says Ally McBeal creator David E. Kelley of the actress's decision to adopt son Liam in 2001. And it's a role she takes seriously: She spent four years as a stay-at-home mom before returning to TV on Brothers & Sisters.
