After 28 years together, KISS bassist Gene Simmons married longtime partner Shannon Tweed at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Oct. 1. Though the couple endured a difficult year, documented on their A&E reality show, the rocker told PEOPLE of his nuptials, "It was a great evening of music and fun. I look at my wedding band and think, 'What was I afraid of all this time?'"
