1974: The actress, 34, graduated from being Mary Richards's sidekick in the classic sitcom The Mary Tyler Moore Show to starring in her own series, Rhoda. It ended up the top-ranked new show of the year.
2014: After successfully battling lung cancer in 2009, Harper received stunning news four years later that she had terminal brain cancer. Despite the dire diagnosis, the actress has chosen to continue working, competing on Dancing with the Stars later that year and appearing on an episode of Hot in Cleveland with her MTM pals – Moore, Cloris Leachman, Betty White and Georgia Engel. As for her health, Harper, 74, recently got some good news: Her cancer, she says, "is incurable … but it's not progressing."
