After stammering through two very flustered acceptance speeches at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards, it seems
Forest Whitaker has
finally accepted what we've known all along – that he could win every best actor award this year. Receiving the American Riviera Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Whitaker took the podium after presenter
Sandra Bullock and deftly slipped two small, white pieces of paper from his pocket (a prepared speech!), then said , "This is like a moment out of a movie. I'm standing in these spotlights," adding, "I've got this beautiful movie star behind me, I'm holding this award. Thank you for letting me take a step back, and feel proud." Aww. Now he better hit the books again – Whitaker is the favorite to take Best Actor at the Oscars on Feb. 25
