Swag Mountain Drama: Chocolate vs. Nature

Today, a very special Swag Mountain, one adorned with socially conscious, eco-friendly freebies. Our sojourn to the green side has taken the edge off our mild hangover from four days of shameless consumption of all the stuff we could get our greedy hands on. Alas, PEOPLE.com's respite was quickly interrupted when we returned to a suite only to find – shockingly! – that we had missed a pile of expensive chocolate the first time around. Ah, the paradox that is Swag Mountain. To wit:

• The Earth-first PennHouse Awards Suite at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel offered swag without guilt, from environmentally safe products like Dr. Ken's all-natural mouthwash to The Hollywood Cookie diet (yep, they're cookies that actually help you lose weight!). Also, for those stars whose red carpet experience is marred by microscopic parasites in their Blahniks, there's the Takara Detox Foot Patch. Put it on at night and in the morning the pads are black. We didn't ask why.

• Some suites are too sweet to visit just once, and so on our return to the SoHo House, we came across something new: gourmet Godiva chocolate – lots of it – packed in boxes and covering strawberries. A gift set of this decadent stuff goes for more than a $100.
