Her Majesty Will Not Be Flying Coach
The British are coming! The British are coming! Okay, one Brit is coming: Her royal nominatedness, Helen Mirren, was spotted in London's Heathrow airport Friday, presumably on her way to the States for Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards. But in a very un-Queen-like move, Mirren – who's up for best actress – schlepped her own bags.
Stay Classy, Screen Actors Guild Awards!
If the Oscars ooze formality and the Golden Globes scream party, what should we make of Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards (at 8 p.m. ET on TNT and TBS)?
A little of both – a dash of class and only a little crass, with actors from movies and TV table-hopping at a dinner ceremony at L.A.'s Shrine Auditorium, followed by a party in a hydrangea-scented tent with music from John Legend. ...
An Urgent Transmission from Jack Bauer
Kiefer Sutherland chatted with PEOPLE at a party for his network, FOX, about who he wants to win at the SAG Awards this Sunday. Great guy, but with our love for 24 we'd rather re-imagine that the conversation went something like this ...
The following takes place between 7:10 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.:
A cell phone rings and Jack Bauer (a.k.a. Kiefer Sutherland, SAG Award nominee)picks up.
PEOPLE: We've been given an assignment to find out who is a shoo-in to win this weekend's SAG Award for best actor in a drama, and we need your help.
I have to tell you that I have been a huge fan of Forest Whitaker for so many years, but I have to say that his performance in The Last King of Scotland was breathtaking.
Can he be trusted?
I happen to know Forest quite well and he's a very, very shy quiet man.
We noticed that at the Globes!
The energy he puts forward in that performance, there isn't a single moment in that film that I am not scared that his character is going to fly off the handle.
Sounds like a certain CTU agent we know.
It's a very difficult thing to do as an actor so I was really thrilled to see him win the Golden Globe and he's just a fantastic actor.
But do you really think scenes involving torture, madness and scenery chewing will win him a SAG? I mean, doesn't it seem a little excessive?
(Dial tone)
Jack? Hello?

Arm-Candy Watch: Jeremy Piven's Mom
When Entourage star and nominee Jeremy Piven arrived solo to a recent New York City party, we had to ask who his date would be for Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Who will you be escorting to the show?
I'll probably bring my mother, if she doesn't stand me up.
Hmm ... Looks like our previous guess was wrong, but we suspect that mom Joyce will be a wise choice – she did the admitted mama's boy in check on the Golden Globes red carpet (right). As for the afterparties, that's another story ...
For Your Consideration: Eddie, Not Me!
We caught up with Chris Rock to find out – under the guise of asking who he's rooting for during awards season – just how many times he could say his idol Eddie Murphy's name in one press conference. We counted at least six:
Who do you want to win this year?
I'm rooting for Eddie Murphy. I hope Eddie Murphy wins everything. Forest Whitaker too. I'll go with Eddie Murphy and Forest Whitaker.
Did you talk to Eddie after his Golden Globes win?
No I haven't talked to him. He's in ... Where the hell is Eddie at? He's overseas right now.
Dreamgirls was such a departure for him. Could you ever do something like that?
Can I do something like Eddie Murphy? I mean no. Eddie Murphy is way better than me.
Can you do a serious dramatic role?
Hey, I smoked crack in New Jack City. I was a hit man in Nurse Betty. I've dabbled.
Sunday Is Set to Be 'Legend'-ary
We know where Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Alan Arkin, Jeremy Irons, Christian Slater and Greg Kinnear will all be Sunday night – presenting trophies at the 13th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards (8 p.m ET on TNT), as Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Gosling, Penelope Cruz, Kate Winslet, the casts of The Office and Desperate Houswives and more compete for acting kudos. And following the ceremony, they're all invited to party with PEOPLE and the Enterainment Industry Foundation at the official post-show gala, and to hear EIF Ambassador and Grammy winner John Legend perform. Last year, stars including Britney Spears, Reese Witherspoon, and Eva Longoria got their party on with PEOPLE. So what can the celebs expect this year?

Arm-Candy Watch: An 'Entourage' of Hot Blondes?
Who will Entourage bachelors Kevin Connolly and Jeremy Piven take as dates to the Globes (where their series is up for best TV comedy) and the SAGs (where the cast is nominated)? From the looks of things, the pair are on the hunt: They were spotted "flirting with two blondes" at Citizen Smith's jazz/burlesque show in L.A. recently. We'll be looking Monday to see if their game was as good offscreen as it is on!
