The Curious Case of the Missing $100,000 Purse
Is Cate Blanchett the victim of some fashion foul play? The actress was set to carry a $100,000 Lana Marks purse on the red carpet, but the bag mysteriously went missing from her hotel room the day before the Oscars. While the New York Daily News is speculating that it could be the result of a secret plot, a Lana Marks Company spokesperson had no comment on the circumstances. The customized Cleopatra clutch, made of black alligator, has an 18-karat white-gold frame and is adorned with white diamonds. The entire front flap of the handbag is pavéd with 35 carats of black diamonds. "We are devastated by the loss of this handbag and request that anyone who has information regarding its whereabouts please step forward and contact the Los Angeles Police Department," the rep tells PEOPLE. (We'll let you make your own fashion police joke now.)

Predict-a-Gown: Carrie Underwood
Carrie Underwood is the ultimate all-American girl (she is, after all, an American Idol) so what better way for the best new artist nominee to dress up for the Grammys than with a great American designer? Carrie's got great legs and a taste for the feminine, so this nude J. Mendel dress would be perfect for her. We also like the idea of Carrie in a pale color, so what about a floaty Jason Wu frock, a gilded Bill Blass mini or this goddess-like Michael Kors dress? Or, the country star could go full tilt in the opposite direction and wear a bold citrus Diane von Furstenberg stunner or a trendy cobalt sheath from Oscar de la Renta.
How Nelly Furtado Gets Ready for Grammy Night
The pop nominee and performer – along with hairstylist Laini Reeves and makeup artist Colleen Creighton – tells us how she keeps herself looking camera-ready all night. "I just want to look hot all the time," says Furtado. "I love my body."

The Duchess's New Clothes: Rate Fergie's Look
Too long nails! Too many warmup suits! And way, way, way too many humps! That's what Fergie's style used to be, before the Black Eyed Peas singer stepped forward with a more G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S look. (Just check out her slinky and sexy Superbowl dress.) But when it comes to the Grammy Awards, we're not sure what look we want on Fergie – cleaned up and glam, or full-on Fergalicious in one of her crazy outfits? Tell us: What look do you like on Fergie – glamorous and chic, or rocker freak?

Predict-a-Gown: What Will Christina Wear?
The biggest change in Grammy nominee Christina Aguilera's red carpet style? Clothing is no longer optional. Gone are the days of the Dirrrty trifecta – bra, panties and chaps – and in are old Hollywood-style gowns to match the retro sound of her CD, Back to Basics. So which siren style will she wear to the Grammys? Here are picks from PEOPLE's StyleWatch team:
If she wants something glam – but still a bit racy – Aguilera could slip into this see-through crystal-encrusted sheath (right) from Roberto Cavalli, who designed her tour costumes.
But if she wants to show less skin, she could try this shimmering black gown from Fendi.
For a real switchup, she could go short. We think she'd look flapper-fabulous in this fringed Zac Posen or this glittering Behnaz Sarafpour.

No, Heather Didn't Pay for These in Singles
But even she couldn't resist making a pole-dancing joke. Heather Graham – up for outstanding ensemble in Bobby –told E!'s Guiliana DiPandi on the SAG Awards red carpet that these Versace platforms were her "stripper shoes." But what do you think of her heels? Click here to take our poll.
Red Carpet Trend Watch: $5 Bling
It's not your typical Sopranos pinky ring: At just two for $5, this pink accessory can be worn without a track suit, doesn't need diamonds and just might make an appearance at tonight's SAG Awards. Already, Hugh Laurie wore it on his winning night at the Golden Globes. What is it – and how can you get it? ...

Predict-a-Gown: What Will Cate Wear?
Maybe Katie Holmes knows – she was seated next to the Notes on a Scandal star at the Armani Prive show in Paris this week – but till Sunday night we'll have to do with guessing, and some dream dressing. So what do we want to see nominee Cate Blanchett wear to the Screen Actors Guild Awards – or even the Oscars? Here are some picks from PEOPLE's StyleWatch team:
If she goes with Armani, it wouldn't be surprising to see something like the couture gray-beaded dress off the runway (above).
This tiered Christian Dior ball gown would be total high drama.
A canary chiffon Lacroix would be bold.
And this metallic Elie Saab would look great against her pale complexion.
